Amazon fees in Xolt
Every fee Amazon charges, where it comes from, and which margin it is subtracted from.
Where the fees come from
Xolt reads fees from Amazon's financial transactions, not from estimates: each sale, refund and monthly charge carries its actual fee lines. That is why Xolt's fees match your settlement reports and your payouts, and why a fee appears a day or two after the sale rather than at once.
Referral and closing fees
Amazon's commission on each sale, a percentage of the price that depends on the category, plus a fixed closing fee in some categories. Subtracted in CM1, together with the product's landed cost.
FBA fulfilment fees
The per-unit charge for picking, packing and shipping an FBA order, set by the product's size tier and weight. Subtracted in CM1. When Amazon changes a product's fee, the monthly plan flags the change and the money it costs.
Storage, inbound and removals
Monthly storage, aged-inventory surcharges, inbound placement fees, returns processing fees and removal orders are subtracted in CM3, after advertising. They belong to the product where Amazon attributes them, and to the month in which Amazon posts them.
Refunds and reimbursements
A refund reduces net sales and returns part of the referral fee; the fees Amazon keeps stay as costs. Reimbursements for lost or damaged stock are added back in CM3.
Advertising
Ad spend sits between CM1 and CM2 and arrives with the Amazon Ads connection, which follows after launch. Until then CM2 equals CM1 and the page says so.
