Amazon and your data

How often data syncs, and why numbers change

Daily updates, the first twelve months of history, and the windows Xolt re-reads because Amazon restates them.

Every day

Each dataset refreshes once a day at a fixed hour in the marketplace's own time zone, early in the morning, so yesterday is complete when you open the app. The Sync status table under Amazon connections shows the last success and the next run for every dataset and marketplace.

The first sync

On connecting, Xolt pulls the last twelve months of history in seven-day chunks, newest first, so the last 30 days appear within the first hour and older months fill in behind. Inventory has no history on Amazon's side: its daily snapshots start on the day you connect.

Why a number can change after you saw it

Amazon restates recent data. Financial transactions can post up to two days late, refunds arrive weeks after the sale, and reports for recent days are corrected. Xolt therefore re-reads the last 7 days of sales and traffic, the last 45 days of financial lines and the last 30 days of returns on every run, and rewrites them in place. Nothing is counted twice.

Provisional months

Because settlements keep arriving after a month ends, the current month is marked provisional and the monthly action plan is written on the 3rd of the following month, when the numbers have settled.

If a sync stops

A dataset that cannot run shows needing attention in Sync status, with the reason. Most often the authorization expired: reconnecting fixes it and keeps all history. The troubleshooting article on connections has the steps.
