Troubleshooting
Products marked cost missing
Why a product shows no profit, how to add its cost, and how totals treat it meanwhile.
Why it happens
Profit needs what each unit costs you, and Amazon does not know that. A SKU with sales but no unit cost shows cost missing instead of a margin, and the workspace totals say how many SKUs are left out. Xolt never assumes a cost of zero, because that would overstate profit.
Adding costs
Open Costs and enter the unit cost, with inbound freight and any other per-unit cost if you have them. A cost applies from its date until the next cost for that SKU. For a product with variations, set one cost for every SKU under the parent ASIN at once.
Many products at once
Download the CSV template from the Costs page, fill in sku, effective_from and unit_cost, and import it. Xolt checks the whole file first and imports nothing if any line has a problem, listing each problem with its line number.
The monthly plan
Missing costs are the first check in the monthly plan, ranked by the sales at stake, so the products that matter most come first.
